There is no debate! It just depends on where Ryan would be based if he gets the job he’s going to be interviewing for next month.

Plus, I already live in a place that is cold and with beaches and I don’t mind it :D

@Melissa: it would not be! How is there a debate between California and Oregon, for example? Freaking California would be toasty and with beaches! Oregon would be cold… and with beaches!

I KNEW you were going to mention me when I first started reading this!

I was just thinking the other day about the direction my blog has been going in. I guess it never really had a purpose other than a place for me to talk about what goes on in my life. Naturally, the posts have changed to baby-related stuff and I don’t really know how I feel about that. I wish I had other things to write about, but when some little person takes over every minute of your day and night, it’s hard to have anything else to write about! I don’t have a life outside of the baby anymore and I kind of miss that. I wish I could write about other things, but there are no other things to write about! I guess I could write about how we might be moving to California or Oregon in the near future, but that’d be boring :D

It’s funny to read a blog post like this- so many people have no interest in ‘personal blogs’. I read a few of the blogs mentioned, even through the changes, and understand but don’t 100% agree. I guess I read blogs frequently for the writer’s style and voice rather than what they’re saying exactly. Jem’s a pretty good mommy blogger, and while I’m not really ‘into’ ‘attachment parenting’ (I go for more ‘do what feels right’ parenting) I enjoy her posts about it, since they’re usually very Jem-ish. And after a bit, when the baby’s not literally attached ’round the clock I figure she’ll find a strong balance.

As for Rose, I’ll likely register and go to her site to read the more personal entries when her feed otherwise updates and reminds me to.

I’m more concerned by the fact that they blog so rarely. I enjoy their voices so much!

@Rose: if you tell me that you found this blog entry just now by typing your name into Google, I will laugh. :) I understand not wanting to post some of the stuff you have before online since your real name is associated with your blog. I usually refrain from crazy-personal stuff too for that same reason. The problem is that I’ve gotten addicted to your personal stories, and you’re about to cut off my supply! It’s hard finding a blog like yours because I’m guessing most folks don’t want such intimate details associated with them. If you do end up switching to a personal-stuff-for-logged-in-users-only, that’s cool. I wonder if I’ll still be able to see such posts in Google Reader. I don’t know how that would work with an RSS feed; seems like only the public ones would show up.

@Surge: thanks for the link. It looks like a web comic, though; I’ll dig around and see if I find a blog on there.

It’s hard! :-)

I love writing about me and my day and saying stupid shit, but when you have prospective employers standing in front of you and saying “The first thing I do when I get a new resume is google the person’s name.”

And then
“I have decided not to hire someone based on their facebook photos.”

It’s like… Oh. Okay. This stuff is serious.

On the other hand, I still do want to write personal stuff, so I’m going to try to find some way to do that, but who knows. We’ll see!
