GRE results

I should be going to sleep right now but I thought I’d make a quick post to say that I have completed the GRE and can move on with my life!! Shazam! I ended up with a 650 Verbal and 660 Quantitative, which is lower than I expected on Quantitative but higher on Verbal. Before I began any studying, I figured I’d blow the Verbal out of the park because I tend to do well with English stuff, but then I hit the Analogies and Antonyms sections and was like “what the flip is this word?”. I guess I knew enough words or made good guesses on the actual exam, though. I felt rushed on the Quantitative section, having to zip through the last few problems without giving them due consideration because I was running out of time. I don’t like that you can’t return to previous problems but rather have to answer everything as you come to it.

I was checking average scores for computer science graduate students at UK and Verbal was 485 while Quantitative was 754, so I was much better with my Verbal but worse on the Quantitative. I joked that the College of Engineering would receive my scores and kick me over to Arts and Sciences. Mark told me my scores were too balanced to be a software engineer. :P

I think I did pretty well on the two essay questions, but I won’t get those results for a few weeks.

  1. Nice site, very cute :) I just finished the GRE as well, and I know what a stressful exam it is to take, especially with the time crunch. Congrats and best of luck on pursuing graduate studies!
