I’m very tickled that Obama won the election. I’m now worried as hell that some attempt will be made on his life and he won’t make it to the White House; I’m really just counting down the days to January 20th (I think it’s the 20th–it’s not the fifteenth, is it?) when he’s sworn in. I’ve been swinging back and forth between pessimism and idealism in that I don’t know if all his words are just the words of another slick-talking politician and he’ll be just like the others, or if he actually will kick ass and take names, metaphorically speaking, and do great things for this country. I’m really hoping for the latter, and I’m excited at the possibility.
I had my artificial intelligence professor talking on my phone today, which was an odd occurrence. I went to pick up graded homework for myself, Bryan, and Jon, but he wouldn’t give it up without their permission. Though they had given permission earlier in class, he thought they only meant for homework 5, and not homework 6 as well. So, I called up Jon first and then Bryan and had each talk to our professor, confirming that, yes, Sarah could pick up their papers. Our professor was funny, too, hunkered over my purple cell phone and speaking kind of loudly in his Polish accent. “Is this Bryan? And you give your permission for me to give Sarah your homework?”
Plug time! Jem started a web site reviewing community, Rev.iew.me, and I’ve been enjoying poking around on it today. The thing that I like about this is that it uses a points system to ensure you can’t just wait around for everyone to review your site and not give anything back. You can’t even post a site until you’ve gotten a few points, which you get by reviewing other sites. You get one point for very short reviews and three points for longer ones, so there’s an incentive to be more explicit in your critique. It’s also nice that it’s a community, and not just a group of select individuals reviewing everyone in a queue; those sites tend to fizzle out because of the large demands of keeping up with all the reviews to be written. I’ve been shooting Jem messages via the site’s messaging system, which is handy because I don’t have to keep popping out to Gmail when I find a bug. She’s been pretty responsive, fixing all kinds of little nitpicks I had. :)

I am now stalking you! It is the 20th, I only remember so clearly because it’s also my father’s birthday. I, too, have worries for Obama’s life. I think someone on the Bee said that people in her area or school (I can’t remember which, sorry) got arrested for plotting to kill him already. :( It’s so sad, I can’t even begin to talk about my feelings or I would fill up your entire page.
I’m a little worried that Obama is going to be assassinated myself. Sadly, it’s one of those situations where you can see it happening because he’s so different to what America is used to. Hopefully, nothing comes of it, it would be terrible if it did because I can see him bringing so much more change to the USA.
Yay For Rev.iew.me. I’m really enjoying shedding out the reviews and being active in a review community again =)
I’ve had some concerns about that as well. I think he might get it from two different sides. He’ll get it from the “He’s black side.”
There’s also another group I think he might have problems from, and that’s the extremists that think he’s the Anti Christ. Hopefully he’ll be safe.
Am I the only person who does not fear for Obama’s safety…?
