I LOLed when I read the entry as well. I've never been a fan of Vampire lore, and never understood the whole "ZOMG Anne Rice!!11" phenomenon. I guess part of the problem with vampire novels is that you need an encyclopedia to understand the terminology and the back-stories. As for Twilight, I'm ashamed to say that I love it. Do I recognize it as cheesy and poorly written? Definitely... but I couldn't put the books down! It's highly-engaging, watered-down vampire lore which appeals to people who aren't your typical hardcore vampire geeks! Haha! I LOLed when I read the entry as well.

Around when Buffy came, there had been a few vampire films. The same as now with TV shows as Lost and Heroes, where the supernatural takes place and is trendy.
