new theme: Wavy

Whee, a new theme is up! After I decided yesterday to try a very simple layout, graphically, that had large text, I spent all of today working on it, tweaking things. Fortunately, the rain of ice outside caused my last class to be cancelled, giving me more time to play with this layout. I hope you like it. :) I’ve tested it in Firefox, Opera, and Safari in OS X, and IE 6 in Windows. If someone can tell me how IE 7 treats it, I would be appreciative. As always, if this layout doesn’t suit you, the old theme is still up. Also, if you’re not seeing the new theme, you can force it to show up.

I make use of Prototype, Script.aculo.us, and Twotone icons for the main navigation in the sidebar. The nifty Javascript stuff won’t function without Javascript enabled, of course, but the navigation still works just fine. I used the Street Light Fashion palette, slightly edited to dim the red, from Colour Lovers. For use in implementing CSS pseudo classes that many browsers do not support, such as :nth-child-even, I use Offspring.

Very nice. I like the simplicity of it, and the large text size goes well with it. And the navigation is rather spiffy. :3

I browsed the site a bit in IE7 (and then closed it to write the comment using firefox, because I hate IE just that much) and it looks as if IE is doing the right thing.
    Nothing funky happenin.

So yep, as far as I can tell, the site in IE7 looks just as lovely as everything else :)
