There was a big storm last night, apparently, because roads are closed off and folks in my classes are talking about the crazy things that happened in their neighborhoods. One girl said the chimney fell off her house, which seems very random and also quite dangerous; thank goodness Santa is off-duty this time of year, or that could’ve been devastating! Ha ha. That story reminded me of a church in my home town whose steeple kept getting knocked off during storms; it happened two, maybe three, times. My thought on that was that they needed to take the hint: they’re apparently not preaching the gospel as God would like, hence their being smitten. Oh, the irony!
Anywho, on my walk to class this morning, I saw a huge branch had fallen right behind a car parked on the street. I think it must have hit the car, even with just the small ends of the branches, because of how the big limb was propped up over the car. However, I didn’t see any damage on the car, which is a bit… incongruous. I don’t think the car could’ve parked there when the limb was already in place, for one because the road was blocked off, and for another because who would park their car directly beneath a giant, precariously balanced limb, especially if there were other parking spots around the street? Odd stuff.
Street lights are apparently down on another road around campus, as a guy told me in another class today. I haven’t seen those yet and may not be able to, as he said they were fixing them just before he came to class.
I made the not-so-smart-in-retrospect decision to leave my bathroom window open last night, because it felt so nice outside and the night air was very enticing. When I made my shambling walk to the toilet this morning—which is so reminiscent of a zombie that I don’t know how Ashlee managed to live with me at all, considering her crazy fear of the living dead—I noticed that my tub was all grungy and my bath mat soaked. My bathroom window is one of those that is built into the wall of the shower, hence the dirty tub floor from having detritus and rain blown in all night. I also slept kind of uncomfortably because I kept getting cold in the night from the breeze.
It seems like EVERYONE had a stormy day yesterday. It was cold and windy and rainy all day here, and boyfriendface says that a big tree fell down on his campus. Ashley talks about tornado warnings. My grandma called and said that things are nasty up her way as well…
HMM!
LoL… I love how you’re always throwing in the fact that I’m scared of zombies. How do you even manage to put that into as many conversations as you do?!
Apparently a tornado came down over my boyfriend’s apartment in Memphis. Thankfuly it never touched the ground and thankfully he wasn’t home. Tornadoes went through a bunch of places we were just at a few days ago, too. Scary. I’m glad I got out of there when I did.
Ashlee: I dunno, it’s just a natural tal–OMG, you’re afraid of zombies! (See what I did there?)
Versteckt: What what what? Since when do you have a boyfriend! Update your blog, hussy!
Call me if you want details! I don’t like writing about that stuff in my blog.
