correct lyrics

Do you ever hear a song and, years later, it pops into your head but you can’t remember the lyrics just right? I’m sure that happens to everyone, and usually for me the lyrics come out messed up and I get a chuckle. Well, do y’all remember that one rap song from the 90’s whose lyrics go “I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller, I wish I had a girl who looked good, I would call her”? Now, after that part, any time in the past when I’ve sang that song to myself, I’ve always sang “I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat,” which sounds so ridiculous that I didn’t believe it could possibly be right… But it was! I heard the song today on the radio and when the guy actually sang that line, I felt such a sense of validation! I’ve been getting it right all these years, and here I was giving my memory down-the-road about having misremembered a song so badly. Ha.
