my slugification

I’ve been doing nothing but sleeping, eating, and playing different video games so far during my winter break, and it’s fabulous. I feel like such a slug! I get up a little before noon, eat a bit while playing the Sims, go visit my dad out at my brother’s house construction site, come back and play some more Sims, play Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door when my dad’s around to watch, play more Sims when he’s not, and stay up till 2 or 3 a.m. It’s great going from the routine of worrying what assignment, project, or test was coming up next to this extremely relaxed routine. I’m sleeping great, too, because I love the water bed I have here even more than I enjoy my cushy mattress back in my apartment.

Here in the past couple of days, I’ve been playing the old DOS game Elfland, thanks to Dosbox on my Powerbook. Last night, I played through the shareware version of the first episode and was told at the end to purchase the full version in order to proceed. I knew we had a copy of the full version around here because back in the day we’d bought the thing on floppies. Dad, being the packrat he is, had backed up the floppies onto one of our computers, so I was able to get the full version installed easily. I spent about half an hour or more tonight beating the first episode again, only to have it end at the same spot as the shareware, this time telling me to play episode 2. Pff, had I known that, I’d have gone on to episode 2 to begin with, since it came with the full version. Oh well, it gave me extra practice kicking bird and spring butt:

I ended up making three A’s (databases, logic and theory of computing, and numerical methods) and two B’s (Calculus IV and statistics) this semester, which tickles me to death because it’s better than I was expecting at the beginning of the semester. It also gave me a 3.6 semester GPA, so I made the Dean’s list. :)

  1. Yay videogames.
Yay Dean’s list. Congrats on the grades!

I’m pretty much doing the same thing my break, except I’m spending some of in in Mexico and I couldn’t bring my xbox, so I can’tplay Halo 3 while I’m there. How very. very sad.
Thats why laptops + the sims are so wonderful ;)

  2. I work a little but otherwise do the same thing. I bought Civilization IV, Pirates!, and Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic for cheap and they all take forever to play. It’s all good here.

I don’t know what I am going to do with all of my Dean’s List certificates. I should start a wall or something.

  3. I hope you had a great Christmas! ;D

A little smile, a word of cheer, a bit of love from someone near; a little gift from one held dear, best wishes for the coming year… May you have a wonderful 2008! ^_^

  4. Ooooh, grats on the Dean’s List! :D

Sounds like you had a fab vacation…that’s exactly how I would spend mine as well, playing video games. XD

The Sims ROCK, I really need to start working on my Legacy family again…they’re on their 5th generation. Have you ever done one of those Legacy challenges before?

Have a fab weekend, Sarah! :D
