Pfhew, I’m halfway done with finals with only two left on Thursday. I think my algorithms final today went all right, though it was harder than I expected. I’m really not worried about it, though, because the professor is incredibly easy with grading.
I wanted to fix dinner tonight for Todd and myself and I wanted to try something new, so I went with a barbecue chicken pizza that sounded good. Bad move–it was gross. The sauce was too runny, the cilantro was overpowering, it was too sweet, and the flavors of everything didn’t mesh well together. I don’t understand how it got 4.5 out of 5 stars by the AllRecipes members; people on there are just too lenient. I gave it a 2 myself because it was edible, but I didn’t enjoy eating it and I won’t be making it again. I’ve got to think of something to fix tomorrow night so that we can avoid eating out. Hey Jem, how’s your mom coming along with that shepherd’s pie recipe?
I’ve been hard at work on a new layout today that just came out of the blue. I’m using a photo of blue pansies that I took the other day on campus, and the colors in that photo work really well with the pale yellow I’ve chosen as a background color. I’m also reworking the content so that I don’t have so many top-level links. I’m going back to some basics shown in the WordPress Kubrick theme, too, because over time my own themes have drifted to being too messy and not making use of some WordPress and PHP features. As Todd noticed the other day when I was working on my sidebar, I had all kinds of embedded PHP and HTML. He asked if I couldn’t use include tags with WordPress to clean up a bit, and of course you can, I’ve just been too lazy. Well, no more! Nice, organized templates from now on, since I typically build new themes off of old ones.
Tomorrow is a free day! I don’t have any finals, though I will be studying biology and discrete math. I’ll also be relaxing (that is, fiddling on my laptop), sleeping in, and probably walking around the neighborhood with my camera in search of interesting things. Thursday, Todd and I are going out to dinner to celebrate the end of the semester. Friday, I’ll be going to see Spiderman 3 with Todd and probably the guys. Then Saturday, bright and early, I’ll be packing up and heading to my parents’ house for a week of relaxing on the farm. I doubt I’ll post any photos while I’m there because the internet connection is so slow, but you can expect lots of adorable animal photos when I get back.
Yesterday, instead of getting on the bike machine for my exercise, I turned on the techno and danced around while holding (and swinging) 5-pound weights. Boy, will that work up a sweat; I had my heart rate up in no time. Today I’ve been paying for it, too, because my knees, lower thighs, and calves have been sore. My calves have especially been sore since getting on the bike machine earlier. Ha, I started watching the perfect movie during my workout, too: Run Lola Run. It’s got pepped-up music and a girl running around everywhere, which got me all energized.
Hah, I forgot to ask my Mum for the recipe.
You should join me in my war against exercise. Down with sweating, increased heart rate and the feeling of stiff muscles the day after!
But Jem, that would mean up with the fat thighs and jiggly bellies!
I’m proud of my jiggly belly. It goes nicely with my jiggly boobies.
