I’ve been trying to work out a time with the ferret purchaser on when he can come get Frank. It was originally going to be this weekend but now he might not be able to get Frank until sometime during next week because I had plans Saturday afternoon, which is apparently when he wanted to come. I wish he was a little faster to respond to emails, and I hope the sale goes smoothly when he does come. Todd’s going to be with me just in case the guy turns out to be some weirdo.
I’m going to dinner at my cousins’ this evening. My dad made a wooden duck toy for my baby cousin, and I’ll be bringing it to her tonight. It’s akin to the ones he made for me and another cousin of mine when we were younger, but this one is more organic. The two he made previously were cut from blocks of wood with a saw rather than carved out. When you roll it along the floor, the pegs on the rear wheel axles cause the wings to go up and down and make a quacking noise. Here are some photos of it my dad took at its beginning and near the end:

The recurrence relations that I hated so much in my algorithms class have returned to haunt me in discrete math. I spent an hour yesterday in the library solving one problem and beginning a second. The homework isn’t due till Wednesday, but at this rate, it’ll take me until then to complete it. I’m going to see my T.A. today for some help.
This weekend seems kind of packed for me. My old friend Ashley is coming into town tomorrow for a wedding and her, two other people we went to high school with, Todd, and I will be going to lunch. Tomorrow evening, Bentley is having his birthday party. I’m going to try and bake him a cherry pie while Todd buys a gift for him. I also need to start my taxes (horrors!), finish discrete math homework (evil recurrence relations!), begin some algorithms homework (2 assignments!), study for a discrete math test next Thursday, and finish my part of the physics lab report that’s due Monday. Hopefully somewhere in there I’ll also be selling Frank.
The duck is adorable! Your dad is quite talented ;)
