My only problem now is that the /var/www/ directory where my website files should theoretically go is only accessible by root, and I am not root. Or something. I tried changing the permissions and broke something, heh.

I’ve installed Ubuntu on my laptop. It’s ..working. I think. I am browsing the ‘net so that’s got to be a good sign. Anyway, I know you’re a big linux geek so I was wondering if you had any helpful links to get me started? “Completel n00b guide to Linux” would be helpful right now..

I want to set up Apache on this so I can edit my website offline as I do in Windows (with my lovely Abyss).. only it gave me an error that I can’t remember when I tried to install Apache with the Synaptic Package Manager thing and now I don’t know what to do.

Help me.. :(

I, too, am waiting on one lousy grade. The worst one has come in, though, so I’m not too worried. But overall, I’m in the same situation – this semester has been true HELL! Next semester shall be much better…for more than one reason! :D
