Note: This was a dream of mine. I have this warning here because some visitors have thought my life had just gone to pot, when really they were only reading one of my crazy dreams. :)

I was in my twenties and while the time period was in the 2000’s, a lot of things seemed medieval. I stormed into my house wearing a black business suit and looking pissed (I was seeing myself from the outside). Valarie, Jayne from the show Firefly, and some other people were there. I was annoyed at finding them there, but since they were there, I told them we had to get ready. Valarie and I went into my room to put on make-up; I kept trying to put on some peach-orange lip gloss but it was really slimy and just slid off my lips. I checked to see that Valarie had put on dark red lip gloss before we left.

My POV changed to Valarie’s. She was with Jayne at a town fair and went to have her palm read by a fortune teller. The fortune teller pricked Valarie’s hand with a dagger and spread the blood on her own palm. It formed a circular pattern with an X in the middle, which was apparently a bad omen. Jayne saw this and so discreetly traced a different pattern on his palm with his knife; the pattern of blood on the fortune teller’s palm reshaped itself to match Jayne’s. Jayne commented, “I think you read it wrong.” She got annoyed and couldn’t understand why the pattern had changed, so she waved her dagger around, changing the shape back. “No no, really, I think it’s something else,” Jayne said and reshaped the pattern. His pattern had a circle as well but its middle was either empty or had a plus sign in it, I can’t remember.
