I was originally going to hang out with my cousins this afternoon but Gina informed me earlier that Julia has a play date she’d forgotten about, so I’ll have the evening free to do my part of the physics lab report, then hang out with the guys. I had my CS test today and think I did pretty well. I got a B or A, definitely. I didn’t do as well on my physics test, though: 77%, which beats the class average but is still a C. At least I’ve got an A for my homework grade in there. I should get my EE test back tomorrow in class but I’m not hopeful since my professor went over the test on Tuesday and I messed up on some questions I had felt okay about previously.
Yesterday was really sucky but today has been nice. I was all on edge and tense yesterday after having received my physics test grade, and then some other personal problems were eating at me, so it was a pretty unpleasant day. Today, however, has been much more relaxed because I got to hang out with Scott yesterday and he calmed me down pretty much just by being there. I got to take a nap with my head on his leg while he studied, which was great because I’ve been kind of worn out after Monday’s long drive from home in the wee hours of the morning. So today has been an improvement because I started my period, which would normally be far from a relief, but this time it is because it lets me know there was a reason for my emotional turbulence of the past few days, and I’m not just going crazy. I also spent a very peaceful half hour in the courtyard behind my dorm where I ate some ice cream, read more in Memoirs of a Geisha, and listened to somebody in one of the dorms practice their clarinet. I’m still a little dubious about that, though, because at times it sounded like an alto sax. It’s sad that I played alto for seven years and can’t recognize it without a doubt. But I digress–having some woodwind play while reading in a sunny courtyard when I have ice cream and a book… Good stuff.
This weekend is going to be fun, baby. Friday evening I’m eating dinner at my cousin’s house, then I’ll be going with Jess, Ash, Doug, Andy, Chris, and Farren to Big Blue Madness (our boys’ basketball team’s first practice of the season–for some reason, this is a big deal and is The Thing to Go To). Saturday, I have a banquet for a scholarship that I’m going to, which I’m not excited about but it’ll be something to do, and I get to dress up for it. Gotta get some black heels, though, unless I want to wear some that Ash or Jess own. Sunday, Jess and I are going Christmas shopping because she’s an insanely early shopper, but I can’t wait: I love shopping. I ought to make out a list of who I’m buying for and what I plan to get them before we actually go.
