I had my first physics test this morning and I think it went well. Jess and I conferred afterward about answers and agreed on each one we could remember except one: we were to find the tension of a string that was swinging a ball in a vertical circle. Her equation didn’t include g and mine did. It was actually a much easier test than I was expecting, and we were allowed to have a full 8.5×11 sheet of paper with notes and formulas on it, too.
I’m currently eating crappy Chinese from the Student Center, listening to A Perfect Circle, and hoping that our calculus tests from last Monday are now graded. We’re having a quiz over limits of functions with multiple variables today, and probably going over more partial differentiation stuff.
This weekend I’m hoping my car will be road-ready so that I can take it home, exchange it for Dad’s car, and visit with my family some. I also need to pick up more winter clothes because I don’t have nearly enough here. Next weekend, I have to attend some banquet for my College of Engineering scholarship, and then the girls and I wanted to go Christmas shopping. That’ll be interesting because I have no idea what to get for Scott. His birthday is coming up next month, too, so I need to ask him about what he would like or figure something out soon. Ashlee will be easy to buy for: we were talking yesterday about how she always wants books as gifts but never gets them. I told her I’d considered books or clothing; she laughed and said, “If you bought me clothes, I would think you only did it so you could borrow them.” Haha.
My brother and Trinity also have birthdays in November, but they won’t be bad to buy for. Hell, what am I talking about? My brother will be; I never know what to get for guys. Girls are easy, because even if you know nothing about their tastes, you can always go with lotion, bath products, cute clothing, or jewellery. Since I know Jess, Ashlee and Trin, I could also buy movies, books, or music for them, so getting their gifts will be fine.
I hung out with Todd and Brent the other day and it was awesome because Todd has bought a handgun: a .40 Smith and Wesson. I think he called it a “4043″ specifically. Anyway, it was a pretty little silver and black thing and it had recently been cleaned so it smelled of gun oil. Why do I like the smell of gun oil? He taught me how to take it apart, which I would be able to do entirely on my own if it weren’t for the fact that the catch has to be pressed very hard to get it to pop out; even he had trouble with that. You’d think manufacturers would make that easier to push, but still have it where it won’t come apart unless you want it to. Nevertheless, I enjoyed taking it apart and reassembling it, as well as reading the section on gun nomenclature in the little guide book. Interesting stuff. If I don’t have to go home this weekend, the boys are supposed to go to a gun show and possibly to a firing range, and I can go with. It sucks that the show is this weekend when I’ll probably be gone, or should be gone, because I really need to get my baby (i.e. the Volvo) to Dad so he can begin repairs.
“…and I can go with.” GAH! This isn’t German! You don’t end sentences with prepositions! The ending “with” drives me more crazy than anything else!
You’d better buy me something good for Christmas :D I haven’t even begun thinking about Christmas shopping yet.
“…and I can go with.” Who? What? Trin, you hold and I’ll kick her with. Or I’ll hold and you can beat her with. Or we’ll both hold and pummel her with. Then we will drench her with. That should put an end to.
Best comment ever. Haha!
