The weeks here have been going by very quickly, which is great because I’m impatient. There’s not any particular time I’m counting down to, except maybe summer vacation, but I still feel this need to hurry and get there. I have a calculus test coming up Monday for which I’ll be studying a great deal this weekend… or so I plan. My plans for doing homework and studying are always grand until it comes time for me to actual crack a book, when they usually fall to pieces. At least my grades remain good. The test will be in-class, which is new; my past two calc. classes here always had common-hour exams. That means I had all day to work myself into a right state worrying about how I’d do, because the test would be at 7 or 8 p.m. Since I have class at 2 on Monday, I won’t have [relatively] long to wait.
The physics study session last night went well. Dan and Andrew and Tiffany and Patrick and Chris and Jessica and everybody showed up; lots of fun. We got the majority of our homework done, too, or at least I did. There were three problems that no one could figure out, so I went to my professor’s office hours today and got help on one of them from him, and then Lora helped me with the other two. I ended up with a 91.5% on the overall assignment, which excites me because that’s an A.
Looks like I’ll be spending my weekend alone, which could be bad, as I’ll get lonely, but might actually be a blessing in disguise because I’ll have quiet time to study. Jess went home, as usual, and Ashlee’s going to be with either her Mom or Doug all weekend. I don’t know what Scott’s plans are; hopefully he’ll be on campus this weekend and we can hang out. I haven’t seen the guy any this past week except for a brief excursion to Kroger’s for me to quell a chocolate craving. I’ll probably get to see him tonight because it’s Todd’s birthday (happy 23rd!) and we’re all going to eat dinner together. I have to remember to bring Todd’s card along; I think it’s still in my desk drawer.
I walked downtown today to the police department to pick up a copy of my accident report; cost me a whopping $0.40. I walked back to campus with my nose buried in it, partly because I’ve never read one before and was curious what it would say about “unit 2″ (yours truly), partly because there were some loud mexicanos that were shouting at me from across the street. Ugh.
I also called a couple of auto repair shops around town, checking up on prices for parts that I know my Volvo will need replacing, like the driver’s side front fender and the radiator core support. The headlights were the priciest thing quoted to me at $240 each, if I get them directly from Volvo. Dad’s checking various sites online, including Volvo World, for cheaper prices.
I say you just mount two spotlights in the front of your car. That’d be much cheaper than two expensive headlights! :D
Damn, I should have come down there this weekend too! We could have gotten into another accident…or something!
Yeah, ’cause driving seven hours to see me is damn worth it! I ROCK! Nah, this weekend you’d have to sit around outside the room, very quietly, while I study. :D
Oh my god! Be like Lee! He didn’t want to use his headlights so he just had two spotlights…someone holding one out each window!
Lee’s the one with the “potato”, btw, Sarah :D
God help us…
