I should remember to write down directions before I follow them, because I apparently can’t keep them straight in my head. I went to pick up Steve yesterday so I could take him shopping for his birthday gift, but I’d never been to his apartment before. I was in a hurry because I had to be back in my dorm by 8 (more on that later) and I just scanned the directions he gave me and didn’t write anything down. So I turn left off of one road and go to the parking lot of a place that I think is his building. I wait for about fifteen minutes and decide that he’ll get five more before I leave. I was kind of annoyed because he was late. Finally, he shows up. Apparently, his building was one further back the road and on the right, so he enjoyed a nice walk to find me. Ha.
Because I missed the turn-off for Best Buy after the mall didn’t have the gift he wanted, and thus had to do some extra driving, I made it back to my parking lot about five minutes before 8. I speed walked and got back to the dorm at about 8:07. Not five seconds after I had been in there, the phone rang; my coworker Todd calling to say he’d be there in a few minutes to pick me up. I spent the rest of the evening watching the movies Raiders of the Lost Ark and Alien with Todd, his brother, two of my other coworkers, and some of their friends. The guys at work have it in their heads to make me watch various movie “classics” that I haven’t seen before, such as the Indiana Jones series and E.T. Last night was just the beginning, apparently. Fun times.
As finals get closer, I’m getting more worried. I hate knowing that I’ll be studying my ass off until my finals are over, and also that I have to pack. I started packing a few minutes ago, actually. I hate packing. Hate hate hate it. It doesn’t help to know that I’ll be moving into a different dorm only a few days after I move out of this one.
Tonight I need to start on my fourth honors paper, study some calculus to get caught up, and do a practice lab exam in preparation for tomorrow’s real lab exam.
E.T. is the greatest! Just thought you needed to know that, even though you’re right behind me and I could easily tell you that now. You must see it!
“E.T. phone home.”
