Lora’s boredom, icy roads

So I’ve managed to get Lora addicted to The Sims 2. I found her drawing little black and white boxes in MS Paint on Friday afternoon. “You really are bored, aren’t you?” I asked before having her come to my computer to play the game. Now she has it installed on her laptop and, thanks to Trin telling me that once the game is loaded you can pop the CD back out, both of us can play it at once. The majority of my weekend was spent playing or watching Lora play it.

At one point in the wee hours of yesterday, I got annoyed at one of my guys because he just ignored what I told him to do, so I yelled at him, “Did you do what I telled you to do?” Lora and I cracked up and realized that perhaps we ought to get some sleep.

Found some nifty geeky t-shirts for my guys, including some Linux ones. Yay for the geekery!

I headed out to Wal-Mart yesterday to buy an ice scraper ($0.88, buddy) since I can’t find mine. I think it’s either buried in my trunk (I have a little hidden compartment for stuff like that, but it hides things too well) or I left it at home. I also had to stop by the ticket office to check on basketball ticket prices for my brother, but they’re only open Monday-Friday, I discovered. Traffic was a beeyatch in some areas because a basketball game let out (us versus LSU–we won!). So anyway, when I first left, there were some light flurries. By the time I was headed back, the roads were covered with snow and, apparently, some ice. One moment, I was driving straight, the next I was suddenly veering to the right. I corrected and headed back toward the left; too far. Turned back to the right; too far. I gradually braked and ended up hitting more ice, resulting in my car being mostly sideways and slightly pointing in the opposite direction. Luckily, there was just a van coming toward me and it saw me in time to stop well back. It was a four lane road and I was taking up two lanes. I slapped on my flashers, reversed enough to get turned around but without getting into the opposite lanes, and got back to K-lot without further incident. Not fun, I tell you.

I finished my CS 215 homework and, while it was easy, I think I did it in a ghetto fashion. The professor didn’t say we couldn’t do it the way I did, but I’m pretty sure there’s a better way. I got Spanish out of the way this afternoon and now I just have to read for honors and economics.
