shopping trip

I went shopping with my mother today and caught some great sales. I surprised myself by showing some restraint and not buying everything I wanted that I could afford. The only reason I had to go to the mall in the first place was to exchange a pair of Aeropostale pants (some I had received as a Christmas gift from Jess) for a smaller size, and then I ended up buying other crap in different stores. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a pair of pants to match the sweatshirt (also from Jess). Besides being out of the same pale yellow color of the sweatshirt, it seemed like there were only a couple of size medium sweatpants in the whole of Aeropostale. Hmph.

I got a lovely, low-cut dress shirt from New York & Company that’s patterned with various blue and green swirls. From Vicky’s Secret, I found a spiffy black bra for only $10. Luckily, their sale will be going on for a couple of weeks and I can hit them up when I get back to Lexington–$10 for a bra is damn cheap. In a new store called Vanity, I found some really comfortable jeans that I thought were on sale for $19.50. Sadly, that was only a select style of that brand of jean; the ones I wanted were $29.50 and I wasn’t paying that. I liked how the sizes were done: instead of the one size number that I’m used to, they did waist size and inseam length. 30-30 or 31-31 seems to be about right for me, I discovered.

From Barnes & Noble, I got a book on XHTML for only $3, as well as a mocha frappuccino from their Starbucks. Yay for iced coffee. Got some more CD jewel cases and a purple Sharpie at Staple’s.

I had no idea Dido’s “Life For Rent” album was so popular. It must be since I couldn’t find it for a decent price anywhere today. Wal-mart and Best Buy were out (the latter shocked me) and FYE had it for $19.99. My ass, I’m paying that. Not when I can get it somewhere else for $13-14. I’ll check at the Best Buy or Disc Jockey in Lexington later.

I’m now talking on AIM with Trin, listening to “Haunted” by Poe, and considering going to read for a while. I put up a new layout on 3till7.net yesterday.

Come here,
Pretty please.
Can you tell me where I am?
You! Won’t you say something?
I need to get my bearings;
I’m lost
And the shadows keep on changing.

And I’m haunted
By the lives that I have loved
And actions I have hated.
Oh, I’m haunted
By the lives that wove the web
Inside my haunted head.

Don’t cry!
There’s always a way.
Here in November in this house of leaves,
We’ll pray.
Please, I know it’s hard to believe,
To see a perfect forest
Through so many splintered trees.
You and me…
And these shadows keep on changing!

And I’m haunted
By the lives that I have loved
And actions I have hated.
Oh, I’m haunted
By the promises I’ve made
And others I have broken.
Oh I, I’m haunted
By the lives that wove the web
Inside my haunted head.

Hallways… always.

I’ll always want you.
I’ll always need you.
I’ll always love you.
And I will always miss you!

Come here!
No, I won’t say please!
One more look at the ghost
Before I’m gonna make it leave.
Come here!
I’ve got the pieces here;
Time to gather up the splinters,
Build a casket for my tears.

I’m haunted
By the lives that I have loved.
I’m haunted
By the hallways in this tiny room,
The echoes there of me and you,
The voices that are carrying this tune.

Father: What is it Annie?

Daughter:
You think I’ll cry? I won’t cry!
My heart will break before I cry!
I will go mad.

FYE always has the most outrageous prices on its products! If stores don’t work you can get the CD for $14 or less on BestBuy.com or Amazon. One of those photographs of frozen nature was perfect for a new layout, by the way!
