30 Dec 04 slimy sea creatures

Note: This was a dream of mine. I have this warning here because some visitors have thought my life had just gone to pot, when really they were only reading one of my crazy dreams. :)

The large field next to my pond was the ocean. The pond itself was supposed to be Queen Victoria’s pond. A lot of students from my high school were there and they were all swimming around in the pond, talking, laughing, and just generally hanging out. No one went into the ocean, though. I tried getting into the pond and I couldn’t swim. I managed to stay afloat for a little while but then I just sunk. I let myself sink and discovered that it didn’t hurt me to be underwater. I eventually bobbed back up to the surface and was able to make my way to one of the edges where I climbed out.

I went over to the ocean and I got in. I was able to go underwater for miles and not be hurt; I didn’t have to breathe, or at least I didn’t have to breathe air. I was also able to see everything around me, even several miles under. There were little glass sculptures that floated around in the really deep areas. I came back to the surface and saw that other people had come into the ocean now. My friend Ashley was there, wearing little floaties on her arms. She was griping about the ocean, saying she much preferred Queen Vic’s pond. She had a glass sculpture and it seemed to be very cheaply made, but she was in awe over it.

I went back down and got her one of the prettier sculptures; it only took a few minutes to go several miles down. I caught a fish and put it in the sculpture as it was like a small cage intended for just that. I swam back to the surface and gave her the gift; she was very happy with it. I made some comment about it being easy to catch slimy sea creatures; her response was to say, “You’re a slimy sea creature!” and laugh. I laughed with her.
