I can’t believe that I have no homework. I fixed some last-minute details on Program 4 for tomorrow and checked my test from last Tuesday because I felt they misgraded one problem; they did. ‘b’ is not less than ‘D’ so I’ll have to see my TA on Friday about adjusting my grade.
I had a bit of an interesting day today. First event: after getting out of calculus, I hung out in one of the libraries where I read some Aristotle and did some Spanish extra credit. For some reason, I was thinking that my CS lab didn’t start until 12:30 so I didn’t go to class until 12:25. Unfortunately, class starts at 12. I walked in and thought, “Hey, why is everyone already in here? They usually hang out in the hall for a while.” I apologized to my TA for being late but he just laughed and told me I need to get more sleep. Can’t argue over that.
Second event: when I left my lab, I headed out a different door than I usually do and happened to meet Dr. Jaromczyk entering the building. (He was the director of the bioinformatics program I worked in this past summer.) He spoke to me briefly about how my classes were going and how I liked the computer science major. I told him that although I wasn’t keen on the calculus, I loved the programming. He said that after my sophomore year or after my second semester as a freshman, I can’t remember which, I would be firmly “established” and we could do more projects. That’d be great so I hope I get the opportunities for such.
Third event: yesterday was Frappuccino Day for Jess and I but I was in such a hurry that I didn’t get to stop at Starbuck’s on my way to CS 100. Today, to make up for that, I went there to get a brownie on my way to honors. While heading out of the Student Center, I was going down a hall with offices on both sides. Just out of habit, I tend to glance into open doorways. Well, I glanced into one and there, in a desk chair, were two fat black people just going at it. I about choked on my brownie; my poor virgin eyes did not need to see that. I relayed this story to Jessica later as she was driving my lazy ass back to south campus after honors and she said I should have either yelled out, “Get a room!” or snapped a photo while shouting, “Cheese!” Either one would have been funny, I’m sure. Wish I had thought of such when I was there, but I was too surprised to do anything more than gape before running away.
Yay, I can write C code now! Steve came over earlier and gave me a basic lesson in it. I translated Program 4 into C and it works almost the same except for one bug where it seems to output a negative number when it should be positive. Not sure what’s up with that but I can tinker with it later.
Oh god, I would’ve definitely snapped a picture of those people…
you’d think they’d at least shut the door!
