I just returned from the band banquet. Well, I actually just got out of the shower, but before that, I had just come from the banquet. The food was tasty and the slideshow of photos was funny. Awards were given out, too. I received the Teamwork Award, which came in a nice frame and had a pretty image and saying on it. I received a certificate for an honors band program I participated in earlier this year. All the seniors received necklaces with a charm of their instrument; I have a little silver saxophone on a silver chain.
Tomorrow, the seniors finally participate in the statewide testing. Then, at about 9:30a, we leave for the senior trip. Yaaay Gatlinburg, TN! I can’t wait. We’re actually taking a charter bus, I’ve been told, instead of a crummy schoolbus.
I have a wretched bug bite on my shin and it’s killing me.
I went to see Mean Girls today in the theatre along with the rest of the senior class. Well, some saw Van Helsing and one watched Envy. A lot watched Mean Girls, though, and I actually really enjoyed it. It was funny and interesting. A lot better movie than what I was expecting. I didn’t really know anything about it to begin with, though. I assumed it would be some typical teen bubblegum film. I reckon that’s what it turned out to be, but it was still enjoyable.
At the mall, I had a sandwich and tea from Subway (ooh, the excitement!) and bought Candice her birthday gift as per her request: a monkey toboggan from Hot Topic. (I just checked “toboggan” on Merriam-Webster and it isn’t defined as a type of hat also. Hm.)
