free days

Today and yesterday have been nothing but free days at school. We’re doing statewide testing but the seniors only test one day (Friday), so we’ve been hanging out in the gym all day, everyday. It’s so boring. I’ve been playing cards, hanging out with friends, reading, and sleeping. I tell you, a gym floor was not designed for napping on. Nor were the bleachers.

Tomorrow, the senior class is going to the movies and the mall. The school is paying for our movie ticket and giving us $5 to eat on at the mall. The free time and trips are to reward us and inspire us to do well on the statewide testing. I’ve heard they’re spending about $10,000 on us this year. It’s insane.

Our options for the film tomorrow are Mean Girls, Envy, and Van Helsing. I’m going to see Mean Girls along with Candice, Chauntel, and Jennifer.
