I’m eating Grape Nuts and listening to Ani Difranco. I was watching Soap but my brother chased me off so he could play on his PS2.
I turned in $50 today as a deposit for the senior trip. We’re going white-water rafting and doing some other cool stuff. It’ll be $150 total but the school pays $25 for each of us, I think as a reward for doing well on state-wide testing.
I tried on my prom dress earlier to make sure it still fit me all right. I nearly popped my arms out of their sockets before I remembered, “Hey, this thing has a zipper.” Unzipping said zipper really helped with being able to get the dress on. Boy, I’m clever…
I’m going to have to get some small safety pins or break out the sewing supplies. My dress is a few inches too long, especially if I’ll spend most of the night in flip-flops (Candice says most of the girls do this because heels are hell). I do like the heels I have, but even these may be a little short for the dress. I’m thinking they are.
I was freezing just now so I went to get a blanket. I was trying to think of a way to express how cold I was and thought “my biscuits are freezing.” Sounds just slightly off, right? It did to me, at least, until I remembered the old cartoon character Yosemite Sam. He was that short guy with the red beard and bad temper that always said, “My biscuits are burnin’!”
Candice and I need a ride to prom. First, her cousin was going to take me, her, and Zack there. Her cousin is busy that night, though. Her mom can’t take us because she’ll be working, which is also why we can’t use Candice’s car. So I was going to drive. Mom doesn’t like that idea (“The traffic will be really heavy that night and you can’t drive in your prom dress!”) and Dad says he’ll think on it.
After prom, I’ll be going to Candice’s house to hang out. The day before prom is Junior/Senior Skip Day. I plan on skipping along with Candice, Chauntel, and possibly Jennifer because Chauntel is going to have a Pedicure Party. It sounds like a blast.
