6 Jun 01 The Odyssent of Bent Trent

Right, so this is a crazy quasi-epic poem (I guess it’s poetry?) that I wrote about Trin’s hard drive, which she named Trent. The big idea with this is that I tried to make a whole lot of words, particularly those that ended lines, end with an -ent sound, to go along with ‘Trent’. It started out very goofy, but eventually developed into a crazy story.

Part I - The Shinthouse

Trent gets bent
So Trent is put up for rent
By Trent’s mean owner
Who is full of shint

Trents mean owner who’s full of shint =
Trin with a glint
In her eyent
Took a hammer and made Trent bent

Trent gets bent
And trin gets sent
Offent

Bent-Trent
Is feeling spent
And takes a naplyent

Bent-Trent who’s spent
Is also full of shint
So he gets sent
Off to join Trin
At the Shinthouse

Bent-Trent and Trin-Full-of-Shint At the Shinthouse

Trent gets lent for a healthy cent
And now Shint-Trin is all alone againt
Trent gets lent to Brent
And Brent is married to Kent
And Kent bents Trent even more than he’s already bent

Poor Superbent-Trent is now sent
Back to Trin
Who’s still full of shint
At the Shinthouse

Kent wants reventge
Cause hes full of shint
So he tackles Trin
And hurts her shin

So she gets a splint
And kicks Kent
So now Kent is quite bent
And he gets sent
Off to the Shinthouse too

Trin is overjoyent
And she is reunited with Trent
Trin is so happy
That she unbents Trent

So Unbent-Trent and happy Trin
Are no longer full of shint
So they get sent back home
In Trenton

Part II - New Environment, Same Predicament

Back in Trenton
Trin and Trent are having fun
Running a defragment
(Stupid Kent’s evil intent
Was to ruin Trent’s inside environment)

In any event
Trent was soon decent
But Trin had to move to a new residence
And of course, she took Trent

So Trent and Trin set out
Across the wild environment
And took all of Trent’s equipment
So they could set up even in a tent

Trin rented a tent
And off they went
Into the orient

But evil Brent
Husband of evil Kent
Also had an evil intent
And so he tracked them to their new environment
By following their scent

Trin was a bit disorient
From having a mind-dent
(And smoking too much solvent)
So she didnt notice their perilous predicament
And she couldn’t repent

Trent got bent yet again
Trin got a broken shin
And Brent swore
‘You stupid bentch!’
When trin hit him with a computer fragment
From their stockpile of equipment

‘Ha!’ trin cried ‘You fragment of shint! I got you bent!’
And Trin drug the body out under the crescent
In the skyent

Trent, who didnt like Trin to be so violent,
Wasn’t very lenient
With Trin

Then, not liking the environment
Nor the tent
(I believe it was the scent),
Trin drug Trent
Back to Trenton
Where they rentent an apartment
and everyone is happy againt

Part III - The Convent

Things weren’t going so good in Trenton
Trent was not decent
And Trin had begun her quick descent
Into the malevolent

Trin was now heavily addictent
To really icky solvent
And poor Trent
Was worried about Trin

Trin would sint
Day out and day int
Not saying a thingent
To shocked Trent

Trent was mentally bent
Over this terrible predicament
Had he done somethint
Perhaps, to hurt Trin?

Trin never grinned againt
She never gave Trent a defragment
All she wantent Was to sniff

So Trent
Took things into his own intent
And took Trin
To the convent

All the nuns were scared of Trin
And didn’t want to take her int
But Trent was very persistant
So finally they listent

They set up Trin
In solitary confinement
And then, biting their lipnts,
They hesitantly took away her solvent

Trin threw a fint
She screament
Trying to get back her precious solvent
But the nuns were convictent

Trin stayed for weeks and weeknts
Trent stayed, watching her through her torment
Just like a close frient
Always at her sident

Finallent,
Trin got over her withdrawl predicament
And she and Trent
Got to go home againt

Part IV - Laying Down The Law

Up in Trenton,
Trent was discontent
With his normal mistressent,
Trin

She was unnervent
And he couldn’t take the atrocious scent
Of her solvent
Any longer than thisent

So he headed down-townent
To speak with an acquaintance
By the name of
Imp

*****

In Noir’s House of Shrimp,
The aforementioned Imp
Was taking a long napimp
On a bowl of fresh, red shrimp

Suddenly, Noirmp
Came barging through the doormp
And rudely woke Imp
From his napimp

“That stupid bimptch!”
Noir declareimpd
As she stopped in front of a mirror to primp
“Who?” asked the innocimp Imp.

“Trimp!
She’s back to smoking solvemp,
And now Tremp’s
Left her sorry assimp.”

Just thenmp,
The back door banged opemp
And who barged imp
But Tremp himpself.

“Tremp!”
They both cried instamply.
Then, “How’s Trimp?”
Came the cautious voice of Noirmp.

“Trimp’s full of shimp.
I’m through with that bimptch.”
Tremp declaremped,
Flopping down on the pile of shrimp.

Noir, looking shockmped,
Quickly turned madmp.
“Tremp! You wretched beingmp!”
She yelled, causing Tremp the Wimp to tremblemp.

“You wimp!
How can you leave her like thismp?!”
Noirmp
Demanmp.

Tremp sighemped
“Because that solvemp
Smells like shimp.
I can’t stand imp.”

“So smack her around a bimp!
Teach her to mindmp.”
Noirmp
Said, shruggimp.

Suddenly came the quiet voice of Imp
Himpself
“Why don’t you get that blimp
To stop with the solvemp

So she won’t be so fatmp?”
Tremp and Noirmp
Looked at each othermp
And Noirmp broke into a grimp.

Leaping over to Imp
Joyouslimp,
Noir hugged Imp tightlymp, saying
“My smart little Imp! I love yoump!”

Patting Noirmp’s headmp,
Imp nodded at Tremp and said:
“Go talk to hermp. She needs your supportmp.”
Tremp nodded and left the couple feeling encouragemp.

*****

Back in uptown Trenton,
Trin was once again getting high on her precious solvent
When our hero, Trent,
Walked int.

Looking up with glazed eyents,
Trin looked upon Trent with recognitient and cried
“Yo yo yo, Twent! Hey babent,
Haven’t seen you ’round hyarent much anymorent.”

Looking at his former love with sadnent,
Our dear Trent suddenly got supportent
And yanked that icky solvent
Away from Trin.

And he promptly smackent
Her upside the headent,
Thus giving her
A mind-dent.

Shaking her head furiouslyent,
Trin looked at Trent in wonderment.
“What was that forent?”
She asked with a clear headent, for once in yearsent.

“Listen babent, let’s get one thing straightent:
I don’t like that shint.”
“What shint?” Trin asked, confusent (againt).
“That solvent. Stop smoking it, or I’m gonent.”

With these last words, Trent
Jerked his thumb in the directent
Of the doorent
For emphasents.

Shockent,
Poor Trin
Fell dead awayent
Into a faint.

Out of the crevicesent,
Came the rarely usent other drivesent.
Emiliowinfent, Noirnyent, Kinyoent,
And the infamous Maxent.

Maxent, darting to rescue his Motherent
(We’ll explain THAT in another storyent..)
Caught Trin
Before she gave herself a worser mind-dent.

And then, who came in the doormp
But Noirmp
And Imp
Come to help the Trimp and Tremp.

“Trimp! Jeezus, Tremp!
What the hell did you do to hermp??”
“She faintent! I told her I’d leave hernt
Unless she stopped with the solvent.”

Kinyoent rolled his eyents, and slappent Trin
Sufficiently waking her up againt.
“Wha…?” came her muffled voicent.
Then..

“Trent! Don’t leave ment!
I need youent!”
Trent rolled his eyents and shook his headent
Then kissed confusent Trin to shut her upent.

And everything was okent
In Trenton
Againt.
For nowent..

Part V - Shrimp House

In Noir’s House of Shrimp,
Upstairsmp,
Where Trimp & co-mp
Live (downstairs are Noir and Imp):

Max was silent
Very silent
In his casent
The seldom usent.

His mother, Trin,
Treated him decent
(At least she didn’t abuse himnt.)
But she never gave him much attentient.

And sometimes, although Max didn’t
Like to admit ent,
He was jealous of his eldent
Father, Trent.

Trin loved Trent
But Max didn’t feel specialent.
So Max got pissent..
And decided to bent Trent.

He collected his Mom’s chainsent
And whips and other tools for delightment
But Bent-Ment Maxent
Wasn’t going to use these tools for enjoyment.

He was going to bent Trent
Until he couldn’t be bent
Anymorent.
Max had gone mentalent.

*****

(Downstairsent
On top of a
Pile of shrimp
Sat Trin and Trent…)

Trin was perched on top of Trent…
Filing her nailsent.
(Get those dirty thoughts
Out of your mindsent!)

When she heard a noisent
Behind themt.
Looking around in confusiont,
Trin shrugged and went back to filent.

When BENT!
Trent caved int
Underneathent
Poor Trin.

Letting out a “Shint!”,
Trin leapt off of Trent
And looked around for the benter.
Finding no one, she now turned to Trent.

Trent,
Who was looking like shint,
Was lying in the mudnt
Very very bent.

With a scream of horrent,
Trin dropped to her shins
And hauled up the manglent
Trent.

*****

Back in Trenton,
Things were looking very depressent.
Trin was sick with worryent
And Trent was still bent.

The others in Trenton,
Noirny, Max, Kinyo, and Winfent,
Were all sobbing, while some smoked solvent.
(Wonder where they got the addictient??)

The doctor had came and went
But said that all the Trins, Noirs, and Imps
Couldn’t put Trent
Back together againt.

But all the thinkent
Trin was doint
(Yeah, it’s a scary thought, isnt int?)
Was leading to an interesting realizement.

Trent didn’t get bent
On accident.
Oooh, were they ever in a predicament!
But Trin was going to find the culprint.

So, gathering Max & co.-ent,
Trin headed out to gent
To the bottom of thisnt.
They headed first to the scene of the bent.

“Stupid policent,”
Snarled Kinyo angrilent.
“They didn’t find even a scent
Of good evidence.”

“Prolly cos the bententer
Was really smurtent.”
Winfent said, slowlyent.
“Or.. Or some shint.”

“I thinkent,”
Noirnyent, who was the smartest of the trinity(plus-two)ent,
“That the culprint
Is obvient.”

“Who is ent??”
The others criedent.
“We-eh-ell,” strechented
Noirnyent.

“I thinkent
That it most certainlyent
Is notnt…
One of Trent’s frients,”

He finishent.
The others blinkent,
Then Maxent
Promptly knockent Noirny outent.

“Yo! Good hitnt,
Maxlyent!”
Kinyo shoutented,
Hitting Max a high-fivent.

“Shut up, all of youent!”
Trin yelled just thent.
The others all fell silent
In the face of Trin’s angrent.

“Search for evidence!
We MUST save Trent
From ever being bent
Againt!”

Rolling their eyesent,
The others begant
Searchint.
Just then,

Noir and Imp
Came overmp.
“Why’re you diggimp
Through this rubbagmp?”

Noir asked with puzzlement.
“Trent got bent,”
Max said with a sad grint
At his friends Noir and Imp.

The two newcoments
Joined into the searchent
For any clues, or evidence
Of who bent Trent.

All the whilent,
Max was silently
Plottent
A way to knock out Trin, too.

Noir noticedmp
His distractiomp
And questiomped himp.
“Max, are you okmp?”

“Fsck off Noirent,
I’m not in the mood for this shint.”
Max’s sharp lipent
Caused Trin &co to take noticent.

Thent,
Trin noticed a dent
In the normally smooth surfacent
Of Maxent.

“Maxent,”
Trin begant.
“How’d you get that dent?”
Kinyo, Noir, Imp, and Winfent all took notice nowent.

Max blinkent
And avoident
Trin’s eyents.
But Trin, being his mother, saw right through thatent!

“Maxent!
Answer your motherent!”
Noir commandent,
Glaring at Maxent.

Lookent
Around at all the worrient
Faces, Maxent broke downent.
“I did it! I bent Trent!”

Shocked silentce.
Then, “You did WHAT, Maxent?”
Trin demandent.
“I bent Trent.”

So Noir bent Maxent.
She took her shin,
And bent Maxent’s chin!
And then…

The motherly side in Trin
Took over her normally calm countenantce,
And she busted Noirent
A good dent.

Imp, seeing Noir hurtmp,
Quickly bimped
Trimp
Leaving her with a sore mind-dimple.

Everyonent
Got angrent
And so they all commencent
To brawl and fightent..

Until Trent
Showed upent.
“Yo Yo, Noir, Imp, Max, Trin!
Stop with the bentents!”

Everyonent
Shokent to see Trent
Alive and wellent
Stopped the fighting immediatently.

“Trent!”
Yellented Trin
And leapt to give himnt
A hugnt.

“Noir!”
Imp cried, rushimp
To her sidemp
In order to help her upmp.

Kinyo and Maxent,
Glancing at each otherent
And rolling their eyents
At the two couples on the groundent

Shruggented
And floppent down on the shrimp
And began to eatent
Until the soundent

Of the other’sent
Began to get distractint.
“Jeez, yo! Keep that shint
Downent!”

Kinyo and Maxent
Turned around on the shrimp
To see the two bodiesent
Of Winfent and Noirnyent.

Noirnyent was, of coursent,
Still knocked outent
From the earlier brawlent.
And Winfent had gottent

His arsent
Kickent by Maxent,
Who got a bit annoyented
At his continuous laments.

And so all was againt decent
In the small town of Trenton
(And particularly to the occupants
Of Noir’s House of Shrimp.)

Part 6-1 - Max Cracks

A loud beepent
Woke Trin
From her sleepent.

Muttering at Trent,
Lazy Trin
Quickly fell back to sleep againt.

Trent, rolling his eyes at sleeping Trin,
Reached over and answerent
The phone againt.

“Yo!” came Maxent’s
Familiar voice and comment lament.
“Hey Trent!
Is Mom-Trin homent?”

“She’s sleepent.
Max, why are you callent?
Are you still at the convent??”
Trent asked with suspiciont.

“Fsck, Trent!
Of course I’m still at the convent!
Damn nuns have got me blockent
And chainent up!”

“Ah, good. Hey, Maxent?
Why don’t I let you go nowent?
Wouldn’t want to wake Trin.”

“Sho, Trent.
Take carent of Trin!”
And with a silent
Click, Maxent was gonent.

****

Over at Noir’s House O’ Shrimp,
Noir and Imp
Were enjoying a visimp
From Tremp.

“And so I said to the bimptch
Yo’ too fat to be MY pimp!”
Imp and Tremp
Laughed at Noirmp.

“Well, I’d better be goimp.
Have to check in on Trimp.”
Trent explaimp,
Waving goodbye to Noir and Imp.

When Trent returnent
To Trenton and his and Trin’s
Homent, he got the shockent
Of his relatively short lifent.

Searching the homent
And calling with worriment,
Trent could find no Trin.
She was gonent!

And thent,
By the back doorent,
Trent
Found a bit of bone fragment.

With a yelpent,
Trent scramblent
Backwards, right into Noirnt.
“Shint!” they both crient.

Whirling on Noirnt,
Trent glarent at the bentch.
“Trin’s gonent.
How’d YOU get here so quicknt?”

“You forgot your pent.”
Noirnt explaint,
Then handent
Trent a green Bic pent.

“What do you mean Trin’s
Gonent?” asked Noirnt.
“She was just herent,
Wasn’t shent??”

Trent sighent.
“Yes. But I can’t
Find hernt.
Here’s a.. a.. BONE fragment, Noirnt.”

Holding out the fragment,
Trent gave a shuddernt. “Where could she be, Trent?”
Noirnt askent, examining the fragment.

“I hopent
You could tell me, Noirnt!”
Trent spatnt.
“Let’s check with Imp.”

****

Back at the House O’ Shrimp,
Noir, Imp, and Tremp
Were sitting aroundmp
Thinkimp.

“Maybe she wemp
Out somewheremp?”
Imp suggestmped.

“Hardly. She always tells me!” Tremp
Said sadlymp.
“Yo!” a voicemp
Suddenly came from the front desk of House O’ Shrimp.

Everyone jumpemp
Up and wemp
To see who was there. It was Maxmp!

“Maxmp??”
Tremp askemp
Incredulously. “You’re supposed to be in the convemp!”
Max shruggempd.

“Stupid nuns.. They wouldn’t let me be their pimp!
So I left em’!”
Noir, Imp, and particularly Tremp
Regarded the kid with shockmp.

Just thenmp,
Tremp remembered their predicamemp.
“Maxmp, sit downmp.
We need to talkmp.”

“Yo, Tremp.
What’s wrongmp?”
Maxmp asked with concermp
As he sat down on a particularly fat shrimp.

“Your mother Maxmp,
Is.. gonemp.”
“Whaddya mean, Tremp,
Gonemp??”

“I just saw her imp
The windowmp!”
Maxmp criedmp.
“WHAT??” the others yellemp.

“Yeah.. She was yellemp
Something terrible, Dadmp, down in the basememp.
Something about suffocating shrimp,
I thinmp…”

Without waiting for Maxmp
To continuemp,
The others burst down the doormp
To the House O’ Shrimp’s basememp.

They all gallopemp
Down the stemps
But the basememp
Was completely empty.

Confusemp,
They startemp
To turn around and go back upmp,
But noticed that the doormp was shut tightmp.

And on the other side of the plate glass windowmp,
Maxmp was grinnimp an evil grimp.
“You know, guys, that basememp
Is lockemp up tight. Have a nice nighmp!”

And Maxmp disappearemp.
Looking shockemp,
The sad partymp of threemp
Stood still and let the truth sink imp.

“What’s he doing, lockemp
Us up in heremp??”
Tremp demandemp.
“I think,” said Imp

“Maxmp has flippemp.”
“We’ve got to get out of heremp!” Tremp criemp.
“We can’t,” Noirmp deadpannemp.
“This basememp is lockemp up goodmp…

..And it’s used as our shrimp freezermp.”

Part 6-2 - Trin’s Predicament

Down in the dark shrimp basement,
Discourged Noir, Imp, and Trent
Sat thinking on a nearby bentch
Shivering and damn near bent.

“What can we do?” cried Trent
“Max won’t let us out of this basement.”
Imp looked up at Trent
“Maybe not.. So we’ll have to findent
A way out ourselves. It’s important,
Because we’ll die in herent!”

“Don’t get so panickent!”
Cried Trent.
“I’m not!” Imp protestent.
“Like hell!” arguent Trent.

“Hsut Pu! I’m sick of you two yellent
All the timent!”
Shouted Noir, standing upent.
“If we want to get out of this basement,
We have to work togetherent.”

“She’s right.. Truce, Trent?”
“Truce, Impent.”
With a fierce glarent,
Noir began pacing around the basement.

“We’ve got to get out of herent
And get Maxent
Tied up somewherent,
Then we’ll worry about Trin.”

Noir stopped pacent.
“Imp, Trent
You’re both fairly strong eachent.
See that window up therent?”

Noir pointent
To a high window in the wall of the basement.
“Lift me up on you, Impent
And get on Trent
And I’ll bust that window out right quickent.”

“Right!” cried Trent
And lifted Impent
Up on his shouldersent.

“Whoa! Hold steady, you weaklent!”
Imp yelled down at Trent
Angrilent.
“Oh hush up, Impent,” Noir snappent,
And climbed up the towerent.

With a bentent
Jaw on Trent
And a bruisent finger on Impent,
Noir finally made her way up to the topent.

“Now, hand me a hammer or somethent!”
She yellent down at Trent.
“And Trent-”
Trent looked up at Noirent.

“If you drop me,” she glarent “I’ll bent you so bentent,
You won’t be able to make a movement!”
Trent gulpent
And handed Noir a nearby wrentch.

With a loud crashent,
Noir bent that windent
Really badlyent.
“Yes!” she criedent, and climbent out the windent.

Reaching back into the basement,
Noir pullent out Imp
And, together, the pullent
Out Trent.

“Now,” said Imp,
“Time to find Trin.”

****

Far awayent,
In a torture chambernt
Especially constructent
By Maxent,
Trin was being held hostagent.

“Let me go, Maxent!”
She yellent
Pitifully, but Maxent
Didn’t heed her pleasent.

Tied to a stone bentch,
Trin was lying on her backent
And very uncomfortablent,
As the stone wasn’t very pleasent.

Maxent
Came down the staircasent
And grinnent
Evilly at Trin.

“So.. Dear Mument.
I take it you’re.. enjoyent
My little homent?”

“Maxent!
My only sonent!
Let me go! What about Trent??
He must be so worrient!”

“Trent!”
Max looked disgustent.
“Always Trent..
He was NEVER a father to Maxent!”

“Night and dayent,
Day and nightent,
He ignorent and hatent me!”
Maxent snortent.

“Maybe thoughent,
It’s just because you were alwaysent
Fscking himnt!”
Trin gaspent.

“What? Did you thinkent
I didn’t hearent??”
Maxent chucklent
Bitterlently.

“And when Noir and Imp
Came overent,
You always warnent
Them to be very quient..
What a jokent!”

“But you know what really sucksent, Trin?”
Max askent,
Leaning in close to Trin
And whisperent.

Trin shook her head in horrorent
And Max continuent:
“You never let Noirent
Be the godmother that she was meant forent!”

“She would READ to me, Trin,
And give me teaent,
And was basicallent
The mother I never hadent.”

“Until YOU madent
Her stop with the teaent
And booksent,
Sayent that I had better things to accomplent.”

Sighent,
Maxent looked downent.
“You took awayent
My LIFE, Trin.”

“I could’ve been a great scientist, Trin,
Or a novelesent, or somethint
To be proudent of!
But no…”

“You made me stop the studient!
And the learnent!
So I became dorment
And THAT’S what really sucksent, Trin!”

“So, I really don’t mindent
All that muchent
Taking away YOUR lifent, Trin.
Cause you see, you did the same to me-ent.”

Trin,
Looking horrifiently
At Maxent,
Let out a shriek as he grabbent a knifent
And sharpent
The bladent.

And with a glint
In his eyes, Maxent
Turned back to Trin
And raisent the blade highent

Then let it fallent….

Part 6-3 - Nightmares

As the knifent
Swooshent through the airent,
Trin closent her eyesnt
And said her last Adiosent…

Or so she assument.
But the knife of Maxent’s
Never reachent
Homent.

Trin peekent
And saw Noirent
Hoverent in midair over Maxent’s forment..
..And wearing way too much black leatherent.

“Egad!” crient Trin
And Noir droppent
Back down againt,
Heading over to untie Trin.

“Yo Trin!”
Noirent greetent.
“How’re you feelent?”
But Trin just kind of gapent, until..

“Whoa..” cament
Another voice. Trent’s.
“Lookent at this shint!”
Crient Trent, as he lookent at Maxent.

“Howent?”
Demandent Trin.
“Did y’all find me, Trent?”
“Actually,” said Trent. “It was Noirent.”

“Noir is psychic,” explainent Trent.
“And partially psycho..” mutterent Imp.
“Shut int!” Noir yellent, getting everyone’s attentiont.
“We’ve got to get Maxent

Out of herent
Before he wakes upent!”
Nodding, the other threent
Grabbent Maxent and headent out the door, with Noirent in the leadent.

****

Back in Trenton,
In Noir’s House o’ Shrimp,
Maxent was just wakent
Up in the cold, dark basement.

“Huh?” he mutterent,
Still groggy from being kickent
In the headent,
And knockent out.

But no onent
Heard himt,
Except a few tonsent
Of red shrimp.

“This isn’t how it worksent!
I was supposed to win..
And Trin!
She’s supposent to payent!”

Max seethent
All alone in the freezerent
Until somethint
Came to him.

“Noirent!
That stupid bentch..
SHE’s the one who attackent
Me! She’s the cause of this shint!

Ooh.. When I get out of herent,
Noirent will be the first who payents..”

****

Above the basement,
Noir and Imp,
Along with Trin and Trent,
Were all playing Twisterent.

“Haha! I’m winnent!”
Cheerent Trent..
Until he fellent
Onto Trin.

“Oh well..” sighent Trent.
“Not that this is a bad thint!”
And Trin grinnent.
Noir and Imp just kept playent.

All were unawarent
That, down in the basement,
Maxent was plottent
His reventge…

Late that nightent,
Trin and Trent were fast asleepent
When suddenly, a screament
Came from the other bedrooment.

“Hey!” crient Trin.
“That sounds like Noirent!”
Trin and Trent
Rushent over to check on their frients..

Where Noir was being shakent
By Imp.
“Imp! What are you doint!”
Cried Trent.

“She was havent
A nightmarent!”
Explainent Imp.
“Oh..” acquiesced Trin and Trent.

Suddently, Noir awokent
Looking very scarent.
She was shakent,
And broke out in a cold sweant.

“Noir!” Imp, Trin and Trent
Crient, but Noir still lookent scarent.
“I’m-I’m okay, y-you guys..” Noirent stutterent.
But all of them knew she wasn’t.

****

Now, clever peoplent
What do you supposent
Is wrong with Noirent?
Remember, she’s psychint..

And Maxent is pissent
As all hellent
At Noir.
Soent…

Put two and twoent
Togetherent!

The Ent?..
Think againt!
To be continuent…

Part 7

The next mornent,
Trin, Noir, Imp, and Trent
Were all actent
Very sullent.

They sat around the breakfast tablent
Not enjoying their shrimp
And unawarent
Of the danger they were int.

Suddently,
Maxent leapent into the rooment
Wielding a croquet mallent
In his handsent.

“What the fsckent?!”
Yellent Trin.
“Oh no..” mutterent Noirent
As she backent away. “Maxent is outent!”

Trent foolishly trient
To protect the woment,
And ended up gettent
Whacked by the mallent.

Trent flewent backwards onto his arsent
While Maxent advancent.
“Trinity…help!”
But Trin was too frozent in shock to save himnt.

Maxent swung the pink-and-violent mallent
And whackent Trent quickly in the headnt.
Trent, obviouslent, is knockent out.
Maxent turnent to the woment, but…

He’d forgottent about Impent!
Imp tacklent him from behindent,
Chokent Maxent
And knockent the mallent awayent.

“Gakk.. Gakk!” chokent Maxent
As he trient to throw Imp off himnt.
Noir and Trin, howeverent,
Grabbent the mallent and attackent Maxent.

Soon, the trinityent
Had knockent Maxent out, and lockent
Him up. A worrient Trin
Finally turnent to Trent.

“Well rats. He’s bleedent!”
Trin exclaiment, as she knelt beside Trent.
“He’ll be fine,” mutterent Impent.
“What I’m concernent about is how Maxent got out.”

Noir noddent. “I KNOW I lockent the basement
When we put him in therent.”
“Lets tie that biotch upent, then check the basement,”
Suggestent Trin, and they all agreent.

****

Imp, Noir and Trin,
After tieing Maxent up in the kitchent,
Headent down to check out the basement.
When they got there, they were quite shockent.

“Shint!” yellent Noirent
As she saw the brokent window in the basement wallent.
“I guess we’ve figurent how Maxent got out,” sighent Trin.
“But didn’t we tie him upent?” Imp askent.

“Yes, you did, Imp. But I’m very flexible, luckilyent.”
Everyone whirlent around to see Maxent
Standent at the top of the basement stairsent,
Holdent a gun to Trent’s headent.

Trin shriekent, Noir gaspent, and Imp’s eyes wident.
“Maxent..” coaxed Trin. “Please, just put down the gunent.”
“Yeah,” helpent Imp. “Don’t hurt Trent, or anyonent.”
Maxent conciderent.

“I don’t really want to hurt Trent,” agreed Maxent.
“I just want Noir.”
Noir narrowent her eyes at Maxent.
“I’ll make you a deal, Trin,” bargainent Maxent. “I’ll let you have your Trent, if you’ll hand over Noirent.”

Trin’s eyes wident, and she lookent at Noir, then back at Trent.
“I don’t know.. How could we trust you?” she finally said, when Noir grabbent her elbowent.
“Trin!” Noir hissent. “You aren’t actually conciderent this?!”
Trin lookent sheepish. “Trent’s hurt, Noir. We need to get him back, before that nut hurts himnt!”

Imp narrowent his eyes at Trin.
“We will NOT trade Noir for Trent, Trin. We’ll get him back some other wayent.”
“No! Trent’s hurt, and Noir’s in full healthent! She could attack Maxent, while Trent can’t!” Trin protestent.
Maxent heard the three arguent; Trin turnent to him and said: “Give us a moment.”

“Noir, you go with Maxent now. We’ll come for youent!
Just let us get Trent safely put in bed herent, and we’ll rescue youent!” Trin pleadent.
Noir conciderent, Imp watching her closent.
“Okay.” complient Noir finallent.

Imp grabbent Noir’s arment, halting her for a minute.
“Noir, are you sure about this? We can’t trust that idiont Maxent. You could be killent!”
“Imp, I’ll be finent,” Noir consolent Imp, kissing him lightlent. “Maxent just hasn’t learnent: never mess with a pissent redheadent!”
And with that, Noir turnent to Maxent and said: “Okay. I’ll come with you, if you leave Trent, Imp and Trin alonent.”

“Deal!” Maxent said, shoving the still unconscious Trent forwardent.
Trin rushent forwardent and grabbent Trent, pulling him back. Noir steppent up to Maxent.
Just as Maxent reachent out to take Noir hostagent,
She kickent him sharply in the crotchent.

Maxent gaspent and crumplent over, but as he did, he firent his gun.
The bullent zipped through the airent and skimment Trent,
Right on his leg and shouldernt.
“Dodge this!” Maxent gaspent out as he fell dowent.

“Trent!” screament Trin, falling over him.
Imp and Noir, howeverent, rushent to subdue Maxent.

****

-several hours later-

“How’re you feelent, Trent my man?”
Imp askent Trent, whumpent the guy on the back as he passent.
“Mmf. Much better, thanks. My leg still smartsent, though,” replient Trent.
“I’m just so glad he’s not seriously injurent!” gushent Trin, hugging Trent for the fiftieth time that nightent.

Hearing noise from upstairsent, Imp glancent up and commentent:
“I wish Noir would join usnt.”
“Hm, yeah, me too. I think she’s still pissent that I wantent to trade her over to Maxent for Trent,” sighent Trin.
“Yeah, I just can’t understant int..” said Imp sarcasticlyent, rolling his eyesent.

“Well, it’s not like I WANTENT to hand her over to Maxent!” protestent Trin.
“You sure could’ve foolent me!” yellent Imp. Trent cut int.
“Hey, hey! You two just stop int, okayent? It’s over nowent, Maxent’s in the convent, and we’re all safent.”
Trin and Imp noddent, quietent down againt.

“Hey, I know what’ll make you feel betterent. Let’s drag Noir’s arse down herent!” Trent suggestent to the sullen crowdent.
Trin and Imp agreent, and the three got up to go fetch Noirent.
With Trent hobblent between themt, Trin and Imp managent to haul Trent upstairsent.
But when the headent into Noir’s rooment, they were greetent with another surprisent..

Noir was nowhere to be seenent
And there was blood all over the wallsent.
“Holy shint!” yellent Trent. “Noirent??”
But there was no replient, except a breeze coming in through the broken windowent.

Part 8

Although he had managent to kidnap Noirent,
Maxent wonderent out loud if it was worth the troublent.
He’d gotten her out to his car-ent,
Dumpent her in the backsent,
And quickly drove offent.

But it wasn’t as simple as all thatnt;
Noir had began screament
And raising hellent as soon as he’d startent the car.
Finally, he couldn’t take any morent and stoppent.
Getting out, he walkent around to drag her out into the night, the car doors open wident.

“Listen, Noirent,” Maxent growlent.
“If you want to survive thisnt, you’d better shut int.”
Noir pausent.
“What’s the fscking point, Maxent??
Are you saying you’re NOT planning on killing me-ent?”

Maxent just grittent his teeth and shovent Noirent into the car.
“Keep it quient, Noirent, and maybe you’ll live a bit longerent.”
For the rest of the car rident out of the cityent,
Noir glarent at the back of Maxent’s headent,
Secretly willing int to burst into flamesent.

****

Back in Noir’s House o’ Shrimp,
(Minus the Noirent),
The remainent trinityent were gettent ready to searchent for Noirent.
They were just gatherent
A few necessary thints.

Finallyent, Imp, Trin and Trent all pilent into the car-ent,
And drove off into the nightent.
Trin had a mapent that she was lookent through,
Trying to find the most likelyent places Maxent would’ve takent Noirent.
Imp was protestent from the back seatent while Trent drovent.

“Guys, we don’t even knowent if it was Maxent who took Noirent.”
Imp complainent. Trin rollent her eyes:
“Whom do you think it was thent, Imp? Santa Claus out for reventge against us bad kids??”
Trent spoke up: “Trin’s rightent. Who else would bother Noirent, especially at this timent?”
Imp glarent at the couplent in front of himt.

“Of course you’d agreent with Trin, Trent..” Imp mutterent.
“God, I wish Noirent was herent.”
Normally Trin would’ve snappent back at Imp, but now she held her tonguent.
Turning to face Imp, Trin reassurent him: “That’s why we’re going to rescuent her fat arsent.”
The rest of the drivent was relatively silent.

****

Shovent Noirent out of the car, Maxent slamment the door behind himnt.
As soon as they were out of the car, Maxent unlockent Noir’s cuffsent.
Whirling aroundnt, Noir grabbent Maxent and huggent him.
“Thank God we’re away, darlent,” Maxent said, patting Noirent’s hair.
“Indeed,” Noirent said, eyes glitterent. “And it’s lucky you found the bugent they put in your Dodgent.”

“Now, we can elopent!” Maxent crient, walkent with Noir to the car rent placent.
“And those foolsent will never know whose side I’m on-ent!” agreent Noirent.
“You’ll be able to lure them right into my little trapent..” Maxent chucklent.
The starlight sparklent down on the city streetsent, as the two figures hurrient to buy a new car-ent.
An evil glarent in her eyes, Noir spokent: “I can’t waitent.”

****

–3 hours later–

“Did Noirent know about the bugent in Maxent’s car-ent?” askent Trent.
“I hope so,” Trin replient, lookent out at the dark skyent with worryent.
“At least we know it’s recordent all of what goes on-ent,” sighent Trent.
“Maybe we should go back and check the tapent, to see if anything’s givent away?” Imp suggestent.
“Not enough timent,” Trent vetoent, shakent his head. “The bastardent is probably already in another statent by nowent.”

Suddenly, Trin let out a shriekent. “Trent! Pull overent! That’s Maxent’s Dodgent!”
With a vicious jerkent to the wheelent, Trent pullent over into the car rental parking lotent.
The three leapt out of the car-ent and ran in unisonent to check out the Dodgent.
“Damn!” Trent sworent, seeing that the car was obviously emptyent.
“We could check insident. The clerksent would remember them if they’d only just been herent,” stated Imp logically.

“Good idea, Impent,” Trin said with renewent vigor. “Come on, you twoent. Lets find Noirent.”
Together, the three headent into the Alamoent. A singlent female clerkent stood behind the counterent.
“May I help you?” she querient.
“Yes,” Trent said, taking charge. “Did a redheadent woman and a black-hairent man come in herent a while agoent?”
“Why, yesent,” the woman replient, smilent indulgently. “The couple seement very much in lovent. It’s refreshent to see such romancent todayent.”

Trent, Trin and Imp were speechlessent.
“What?” Imp raspent, leanent on the counter toward the womanent.
The woman lookent surprisent. “The redhead kept smiling at the manent, and they were holdent hands.. I just thought..”
“What was the womant wearing?” Trent interruptent.
“Hrm.. A black tee-shirtent and jeansent. The man was in khakisent and a black sweaterent.. Are these your friendsent?”

Trin pattent a near-hyperventilating Impent on the back, before answerent the woman. “Yes, they are. Thank youent.”
The woman, lookent confusent, noddent as Trent and Trin helpent Imp out of the buildent.
Trent, lookent very tight-lippent, didn’t speak until they were in the car-ent and back on the roadent.
“It looks,” he began, his voice thin and angry, “that we have a traitor in our midstent.”
Imp’s head jerkent up in the back seatent. “No!” he crient hoarsely.

“Imp..” Trin began, but Imp cut her off.
“NO! Noir would not do this to us, to me-ent.. She would NOT get with Maxent!” he crient, pounding his handsent on the seatent.
“As much as we hate to believent it, Impent, all the evidentce points that way,” Trin reasonent.
“WHAT evidentce??” Imp demandent. “That woman back therent might be talkent about another couplent!”
“Imp..” Trent said, his voice softenent. “She describent exactly what Noir was wearent when she was ‘kidnappent’. It HAS to be her-ent.”

There was silentce for a minutent, the city outsident giving way for miles of forestent.
Imp finally spokent againt, his voice anguishent:
“I know. It was just wishful thinkent on my partent.”
Trin turnent around to comfort a now cryent Imp, while Trent drovent on, his mind tickent furiouslyent.
Outsident, the very moonent seement to darkent.

Part 9

The tiny Beetlent drovent smoothly on the rain-slickent pavement,
Moonlight shinent through Noir’s windowent.
Maxent hadn’t wantent to rent the small Beetlent,
But Noirent had seement to have a fetishent for the teeny carsent
And he had takent it to pleasent her-ent.

The twoent had been drivent for about an hourent
Through a very dark forestent.
There seement to be no signsent of populatient
For many milesent.
“I wonder if they’ve set out after me-ent yetent,” Noir ponderent.

“I’m surent they have, lovent,” Maxent replient,
Glancent over at the redhead in the passenger seatent.
Noir noddent, and with a sighent, turnent to look out the windowent.
“Noirent?” Maxent askent, getting worrient.
Noir turnent back to facent Maxent, smiling slightlent.

“Sorry. I’m just a bit tirent, is all.. And worrient.”
“Why, darlent? They’ll never catch us-ent,” Maxent replient with confidents.
“It’s not so much thatent, Maxent.. They’re still..”
“What? They’re still whatent?” Maxent askent as Noirent trailent off.
“They’re still my friendsent. I feel like I’m betrayent them by running off with youent,” Noir said,

Thinking that was the understatement of the centurent.
“Particularly Impent..” With that, Noirent burst into silent tearsent.
Maxent, shockent, quickly pullent off the roadent.
Leanent across the seatent, he huggent Noirent.
“Ssh.. It’ll be okayent.”

Desperatelyent, Noir huggent Maxent backent, sobbent into his shoulderent.
“I- I still lovent Impent, you know,” she stated tearilyent. Maxent was silent.
Noirent pullent back to look at him. “Maxent?”
“I know you still lovent him,” he statent, darkness shroudent his expressient.
“And?” Noir pressent.

Maxent sighent and massagent his templesent.
“And I guess I’m okay with thatent. I mean, I couldn’t expect you
To just drop himent when you chosent me, could I-ent?”
At the upsent tonent in his voicent, Noir began cryent againt in earnestent;
Maxent pullent her to him, and for a long time the two clung to each otherent.

Maxent had heardent several cars go byent in the timent they were therent,
But none so far-ent had stoppent.
However, just as he was about to suggestent to Noirent
That they leavent againt, a car did stop therent, just across the roadent.
And three very familiar facents got out of int.

****

Trent blew air through his teethent, frustratent about what they should do-ent.
“We’ll never be able to catch up with Noir and Maxent!” he complainent,
Kickent a rock across the dark parkent lot of the Alamoent.
Trin smilent and pattent his backent.
“It’s alrightent, Trent. We’ll findent them somehowent.”

Trent glancent up at Trin, and rememberent that
This was Trin’s birthdayent. He suddently leanent forwardent
And huggent her tightlyent.
“Oomph! Trent, what’s gottent into youent?” Trin gaspent as her ribcagent was crushent.
“Happy birthday, lovent,” he replient simply.

They heard a shufflent from inside their Dodgent;
Suddently Impent stuck his head outent and lookent at them.
“Happy birthday, Trin,” he callent, before pullent his head
Back into the car-ent. “Hmph. ‘Happy’ birthdayent, my assent..”
They heard him mutter a moment laterent.

Trin sighent and turnent back to Trent, kissent him.
“I guess we’d better be on our way-ent, then,” Trent said finallyent.
“But how do we even know which way to go-ent?” he demandent.
Trin thought for a moment, then slappent Trent’s arsent as she got an ideant.
Trent jumpent, lookent at Trin in surprisent.

“Trent! I’ll bet that womant could tell us which way they went,
Or at least what kind of car they rentent,” Trin suggestent,
Steppent back from Trent and holdent him at arms levelent.
“That’s a good point-ent, Trin. Stay with Impent and I’ll go ask.”
With that, Trent turnent and rushed back into the Alamoent.

Sighent, Trin stuck her hands in her pockents and starent up at the night skyent.
“Ah, son-ent.. I wonder if you’re lookent up at the same starsent
Right now, along with Noirent?” she said softlyent.
“And Noirent! Who ever knewent you had it in youent?
To suddently switch sidesent.. To be with Maxent.”

“And what of Impent?” she whisperent suddently, turnent to face the dark car-ent.
“How could you just leavent him like thisent?”
Trin didn’t have any more time to thinkent, as just thent Trent came back out-ent
Grinnent, and carryent a pair of keysent.
“Trent?” Trin callent questionently, but he wavent her off as a bright red Ferrarint pullent up.

Trin gapent. An Alamo workerent got out of the car-ent, said a few wordsent to Trent,
And went insident the Alamoent. Trent got in the car-ent and drovent
Across the parkent lot to Trin. Climbing out, he grinnent againt.
“So, Trin, how do you like the wheelsent?”
“You.. You rentent this?” Trin managent, still gapent at the shiny car-ent.

Trent noddent. “Cost a pretty pennyent, surent, but I figurent
We’ll be able to get to Noirent and Maxent a lot fasterent.”
When he said their names, Trent’s face took on a sour expressient.
Imp suddently appearent, out of the other car-ent. Somehowent,
He didn’t seem surprisent to see the Ferrarient parkent at their feetent.

“Well, I guess we’d better get a move on-ent, eh guys-ent?”
He said drearily, his eyes redent from cryent. And with thatent,
Impent clamberent into the new car-ent.
Shootent Trin a worrient lookent, Trent climbent into the driver’s seatent.
With a last look at the skyent, Trin joinent them, and they roarent off into the nightent.

****

“Oh, buck up, Impent!” Trent callent back to Impent,
Who was just getting overent one bout of cryent.
“How can I-ent?” Impent demandent. “Noir’s left me-ent!”
“Bull shint!” Trin crient. “What’s Maxent got that you’ve not-ent,
Besides a whole lot of pure evilent..”

“Yeah, Impent,” Trent agreent. “Noir would never join Voldemortent!”

“How can you be so surent?” Impent crient. “I meanent, Voldemortent
Offersent a lot of powerent, and if Noir’s with Maxent.. He might persuadent her-ent!”

Trin and Trent exchangent a lookent.
“Don’t worry, Impent,” Trin reassurent, though she wasn’t so sure herselfent.
“Yeah, Noirent still loves youent,” Trent agreent.
Impent was silent, and turnent to starent up at the skyent through the windowent.
“I’m not so surent,” he said to himselfent.

****

“Trent! Therent they are!” yellent Trin, pointent outsident.
Trent slamment on the brakesent, and with a squealent of tiresent,
He managent to stop the Ferrarint parallelent to the lone Beetlent across the streetent.
Jumping out of the car-ent along with Trin and Impent,
Trent gaped across the streetent.

“They rentent a Beetlent?” Trent demanded, puzzlent.
“Noir loves those thingsent,” Impent said dismallyent, blinking up at the starsent.
Imp and Trent, suddenly hearing a soundent behind themt, whirlent around.
Trin was standing therent, holdent what lookent like a .22 shotgun.
“Uh, Trin, honeyent..” Trent said, lookent warily at the gunent in Trin’s handsent.

“Isn’t that a little heavy-dutyent?”
Trin smilent. “You never can tellent, Trent.” Impent remainent silent.
Trin noddent over at the little Beetlent,
Gesturing a bit wildly with her shotgunent; Trent cringent.
“Let’s go give those twoent a big Pennsylvanian welcoment.”

Bent Trent 10

“Oh shint! Maxent!” Noir crient, shovent a nakent Maxent off her lapent.
“What?” Maxent demandent, glarent up at Noirent from the floorent of the tiny Beetlent.
Noir had scramblent across the driver’s seat of the car and was leanent
Out the windowent, her jaw agapent.
Annoyent, Maxent clamberent up besident her and gaspent.

Outsident their car, on the other sident of the roadent,
Trin was standent holdent a shot gunent. Trent and Impent flankent her,
Impent dressed in a dobokent
And Trent brandishent a sling-shotent.
As Maxent and Noirent watchent, the three began to cross the roadent towards thement.

“Oh holy Mary, Jesus and Josephent!” Maxent exclaiment,
Grabbing for his pantsent. “They’ve found us-ent!”
Noirent sighent. “We’ve literally been caught with our pants downent.”
Maxent glarent at Noirent as he pullent his shoes on-ent.
“You could start getting preparent, by, say, grabbent a machine gunent or somethint.”

As Noirent and Maxent leapent out of the Beetlent,
Trent, Trin and Impent had just reachent their side of the roadent.
A silent moment passent betweent the five of thement; a tumbleweedent rollent past.
Suddenly, Trin aiment her shotgunent and firent; a loud bang! soundent
As she blastent a large hole in the sident of the Beetlent.

“Mo-omm…” Maxent whinent. “You almost hit me-ent!”
Noirent glarent at Maxent and slappent him. “Darlingent, shut upent.”
Turning to face Impent, Noir whippent out a .357 Magnum and pointent it at his headent.
“Why are y’allent herent? Why did you follow us-ent?”
Trent glarent at Noirent. “We cament to rescuent yo sorry assent, though I don’t know whyent.”

“Whorent!” Noirent yellent, then shot a holent in Trent’s pants legent.
Trin, scarent for her lovent, levelent the shotgunent at Noirent’s headent.
“Alright biotchent. Freezent!” Trin yellent, ejectent an empty shellent from the gun and loadent it againt.
Maxent screament in a high-pitchent, girly wayent and leapt in front of Noirent.
“No mum! I won’t allow you to hurt her-ent!”

Trin sighent and looked very borent.
“Maxent,” she said slowly. “If you don’t movent, I’m going to blow your balls offent.”
“Man!” Trent crient; everyone turnent to look at himent. He blushent and went on-ent:
“I just thought it’d, um, really suckent to lose your balls, man. But um, carry on, Trin.”
Trin rollent her eyes and turnent back to Maxent, lookent impatient.

Imp suddenly yellent out: “Hi-yahh!!” and kickent the shotgunent from Trin’s handsent.
“Impent! You pansyent! What the fsckent are you doingent?!” Trin shoutent.
Impent didn’t respondent. Instead, he pullent his hands over his headent,
Balancent on one legent, and said slowlyent: “Wuahhhh…”
Impent lookent insanent.

While everyone elsent was wonderent what the devil was going on-ent,
And what sort of crack Impent was on-ent
(And wherent they could get soment, and why Impent hadn’t sharent in the first placent),
A large black Corvettent pullent up beside thement
And two really hot guysent yellent out:

“Hey babyent! You must be tiredent, becausent you’ve been runnent through my headent
ALL day longent!” a blonde onent yellent, leerent suggestivelyent at Trin.
Trin narrowent her eyesent, took aiment, and blew the guy’s headent offent.
“Dracoent!” the other man yellent in a British tonent. “Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Dracoent?” Noirent’s eyes wident. “Ohmygoshent! Trin, you didn’t!”

Maxent lookent shockent as Noirent suddently ran out from behind himnt.
Noirent steppent up to a surpisent Trin, slappent the shotgun awayent,
And punchent her in the facent. Trin fellent on her assent and Noir began sobbent:
“You killent Dracoent! Ohmygoshent!” Untilent she felt a hand on her shoulderent.
Turnent around, Noirent came face-to-face with a very alive Dracoent.

“Ohmygoshent! He’s hotent!” Trin yellent from the ground, but no one paid any attention to her-ent.
“My lovent!” Dracoent crient and smoochent a speechlessent Noirent, untilent Maxent yankent him awayent.
“Hey buddyent!” Maxent yellent at Dracoent. “You don’t event belongent in our worldent! So back off the ladysent!”
Dracoent considerent, thent shruggent and went to stand with Harryent on the sident.
Trin stood back upent, grabbent her shotgunent, and the fight was back on-ent.

Everyonent began punchent each otherent, with Dracoent and Harry yellent advicent from the sidelinesent.
“Ooomf!” Trent yellent as Imp punchent his stomachent.
“Ouch!” shriekent Noirent as Trin bustent her one in the headent.
“Fsckent, god damnent, shint!” Trin yellent as Max crackent her one in the jaw.
“Ooh, nicent shotent, Trinent! Not so fast therent, Impent! Thattagirl, Noirent!” Dracoent yellent encouragently. Harry rollent his eyesent.

Finallyent, everyonent was too tiredent to fight anymorent, and collapsent in a sweaty heapent on the grassent.
“Whoof!” Trent exhalent. “I think someonent broke my left ribsent!” Trent then passent outent, and lay twitchent on top of Noirent.
Noirent glarent at Trent and rollent him off of herent. “Of all the peoplent who could be layent on top of me-ent…” she said in sad disgustent.
Maxent perkent up at thisent and lookent hopefullent, until Noirent cut him offent.
“Oh no-ent, Maxent. I’m sticking with Impent for the moment.” Impent grinnent while Maxent poutent.

Trin, massagent her black eyent, glancent up at Noirent and mutterent “Whorent..” under her breathent. Noirent didn’t hearent.
Impent, Maxent, Noirent, and Trin heard a mufflent moanent coming from the bushesent and lookent overent.
“Oh my godent!” Impent yellent in disgustent, whippent back aroundent.
Dracoent and Harry were having a nice nudent roll in the grassent.
Maxent laughent at Impent’s responsent, until he saw his motherent looking interestent.

Just as everyonent was relaxent againt, a motor was heardent in the distancent.
A police car-ent pullent up and two fat copsent leapt outent, guns drawnent.
“Alright, everyonent! Yer all under arrestent!” one yellent, waving his gun aroundent.
“Fsckent! What forent?” Maxent demandent. The cops narrowent their eyesent.
“Indecent exposurent, grand theft autoent, brandishing a weaponent, cheesy linesent…”

“Alright alright!” Noirent yellent. “We get the pointent.”
And with a communal sighent, all four of them got upent.
When the handcuffsent were claspent on Trin, she lookent mildly pleasent, but other than thatent, the general spirit was lowent.
Trent was shakent awakent, Dracoent and Harry were draggent from the bushesent,
And everyonent was stuffent into the backseat of the cop car-ent as it pullent offent.

Noirent was seatent on Maxent’s lapent, which made him quitent happient but pissent Impent,
Trinent was floppent on Trent’s lapent, grinnent happilyent,
And Impent was sittent on top of Harry, which proovent to make Dracoent shoot threatenent glances at himent.
Impent himselfent alternatent from shootemt looks of disgust at the nudent Harryent
And buryent his facent in his handsent in wearynessent for the night aheadent.

Note: This was a dream of mine. I have this warning here because some visitors have thought my life had just gone to pot, when really they were only reading one of my crazy dreams. :)

My grandmother was visiting, and she and I were in my bedroom. There was a fuse box hanging on the far wall, with lots of cables and wires hanging out of it. She was looking through them, and took wire-cutters to one wire, saying ‘oh, we don’t need this one’. I got really upset, saying “No no, that’s Dad’s slackware project! He’ll be so mad! You’ve destroyed it!” and started crying.

6 Jun 01 master and apprentice

Note: This was a dream of mine. I have this warning here because some visitors have thought my life had just gone to pot, when really they were only reading one of my crazy dreams. :)

I was a robed wizard’s apprentice standing in the doorway of a small building. It was in third-person at first: I could see myself standing there. The building was the home of both myself and my master, the wizard.

The building and an expanse of brown floor (like a topless box cut in half, with three walls and one open side) were floating in space. Colors and random images were in the space, too. On one side of the brown marble floor, there was a cage, enclosing a pack of mutant dogs. They distinctively gave off the feeling of evil.

Suddenly, I snapped back into myself, first-person. I went to feed the dogs and the cage was broken open. As I fed them, I dropped a wooden amulet which my master had said to never let the dogs have. They leapt at the amulet, and in my panic, I threw it off into the void. Then, they turned on me, as the food and the amulet were both gone. I got scared and leapt off into the void, too. I had hoped that, as soon as I entered the void, I would just cease to be. But instead, I just kept falling, and I could see the marble place floating up above me.

I thought I would be okay, until the dogs jumped off, too, after me. They surrounded me as we fell through space, and I woke up when they began eating my arm off.

25 Jun 01 Alice

Unsatisfied
Go youthful dreams that you still humor
In your attempt to play
Within our massive court—
Know that with one roll of my dice
You’re gone.

This pale realm is where
Hunters of fair mind
Rule other, weaker hearts
And true guards are scarce.
The queen has brought it all upon me,
So I’m gone.

Notes

This one has been edited over the years with the most recent edit being on October 25, 2007. As with all my poetry, if I think it has a good base idea, I keep it around and adjust phrasing over the years so that its meaning is clearer than it used to be. I have a theory that when I get the urge to write poetry, whatever I write down may be as scrambled as all get-out, but there’s a meaning to it that I may not even understand myself as I write. However, with time and further contemplation, I usually manage to polish a poem such that it’s cleaner, better, and its original meaning becomes more refined.

With this one, I had Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll in mind, and more specifically, the video game American McGee’s Alice, which is a darker version of Carroll’s original story. The first stanza I interpret as being from the Queen of Hearts, directed toward Alice, who in the game is the Queen’s enemy. The second stanza is from Alice’s perspective, and she’s making commentary that those under the Queen’s rule are weak. In the first stanza, the Queen is implying that she has control over Alice, who can be killed with something as simple as a roll of the Queen’s dice. The end of the second stanza, however, has Alice denying the Queen’s power over her, and Alice goes her own way. I see this as basically Alice’s way of saying, “To hell with you!” to the Queen.
